Furniture & Fabrication Experience

Fabrication & Manufacturing Background

Before leading enterprise-scale capital interiors programs, Jamaica spent years designing and fabricating custom furnishings for luxury hospitality and residential environments.

Her early career included hands-on work in upholstery, millwork coordination, material sourcing, production oversight, and installation sequencing. Working directly with domestic and international fabricators, she developed a deep understanding of structural integrity, tolerances, finish durability, and long-term performance in high-use environments.

This manufacturing foundation continues to inform her program leadership today—strengthening constructability evaluation, vendor assessment, cost alignment, and risk mitigation across complex interior delivery programs.

Deep Dive

Denver Custom Furniture (2012–2021) provided a direct, hands-on immersion into custom furniture manufacturing, upholstery, and production management. As founder and operator, I led projects from concept through fabrication and installation, overseeing frame construction, material selection, upholstery, finishing, quality control, logistics, and client coordination. The studio delivered bespoke furnishings for luxury residential and hospitality environments across the US. Work included architectural banquettes, custom seating systems, upholstered beds, and integrated millwork components installed within fully occupied resort properties. In 2014, Denver Custom Furniture was recognized by Elle Décor as one of the top U.S. resources for bespoke furniture. More importantly, this period built operational judgment. Managing production firsthand developed a deep understanding of manufacturability, structural tolerances, cost alignment, vendor capability, sequencing, and long-term durability. That foundation now informs my leadership across enterprise-scale capital interiors programs, strengthening constructability evaluation, reducing rework, mitigating execution risk, and protecting design intent through procurement, construction, and turnover.
